มีคำกริยา
2 ประเภทที่ลงท้ายด้วย ing ประเภทแรกเรียกว่า
present participle คือคำที่ใช้กับกริยาช่วย (auxiliary
verb) เพื่อทำให้ประโยคนั้นๆเป็นรูป continuous tense เช่น
We are making good
progress.
Susan was dancing in the
moonlight.
I shall be seeing George tomorrow.
I have been struggling with
English Grammar all week.
Present
participle ยังสามารถใช้กับกริยาช่วยในลักษณะที่เป็นคำคุณศัพท์ (adjective)
และในรูปของวลี participial phrase เช่น…อ่านต่อ
